Rikki the Rat (Brent Hirose, Puppeteer)

A Maritime Festival Icon!

Brent Hirose is an actor, writer, director, improvisor, teacher, voice over artist and professional wrestler based out of Vancouver, B.C. A graduate from the University of Winnipeg, Brent spent nearly a decade acting in the prairies where he co-founded the improv troupe The Horrible Friends and the indie theatre company Theatre by the River. After relocating to the coast, he served as co-artistic director of Vancouver’s Instant Theatre from 2016-2019, and is currently a company member and instructor with Tightrope Impro Theatre. He is a member of the all Asian Canadian comedy group Fistful of Kicks, and is the current Artistic Director of The Spontaneous Shakespeare Company (formerly Shakespeare After Dark), Vancouver’s premiere improvised Shakespeare company.
