Getting to the Festival

We can’t wait to welcome you to our 2025 festival! Here are our tips and advisories for the most convenient ways to get to Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, located at 5180 Westwater Drive, Richmond, BC.

We recommend checking this page before attending for a detailed map and any additional advisories.

Special Advisory

Our 2025 festival will coincide with the Richmond Dragon Boat Festival taking place on Saturday Aug. 23, just west of us at Imperial Landing. Please note that Dragon Boat Festival participant parking is located at Steveston Park, with access via Fentiman Place, north of the park.

By Car

We will have parking at Homma Elementary (5100 Brunswick Drive, north of Britannia Shipyards). The parking lot entrance is from Trites Road to Westwater Drive (and not from Railway Avenue). Parking is by donation. Please note that the section of Westwater Drive north of Britannia Shipyards will be closed on August 23-24 from 10AM–7PM.

Limited number of accessible parking spaces will be available at the South end of Railway Avenue, close to the West entrance of the site. Please see this event map for location.

By Shuttle

The Richmond Discovery Shuttle provides complimentary shuttle services across several destinations. There is currently a Discovery Shuttle stop located at Britannia Shipyards, but over the festival weekend this will be moved to the north entrance of Homma Elementary. Please note that the section of Westwater Drive north of Britannia Shipyards will be closed on August 23-24 from 10AM–7PM.

By Transit

From Canada Line Brighouse Station:

  • Bus #401, 406 and 407 go to Steveston, a short walk from Imperial Landing
  • Bus #402 will take you to Moncton Street at Railway Avenue, a short walk from the Britannia Shipyards

On Foot or Bike

If you are coming from Steveston Village, from No. 1 Road and Moncton, the boardwalk heading East will take you directly to the festival site. There will be a Wheel Watch on site, or you may safely park your bikes with the Steveston Village Bike Valet, a scenic 15-minute walk from the festival.
